about
Andrew Elaban and Pete Fosco have both been chasing their ghosts in both the visual and sonic mediums for well over a decade, and despite having met relatively recently in 2015, this collaboration felt inevitable in its own way. Pulling from memories of growing up in Northern Ohio and Southern Ohio respectively, and both veterans of the restaurant industry, they both followed a similar trajectory into the lysergic American Underground: initially through visual arts. Soon after college they became self-taught musicians inspired by outsiders that forged their own path, the strange longing instilled by pools of light, and the joy of hearing a sound created looping back on itself, attempting some sort of recall. Despite various attempts over the years by media outlets to classify these excursions into some sort of easily identifiable genre of the week (i.e ambient, noise, whatever the next one might be) these two have continued to push themselves forward into new zones and challenges. It is fitting that their first live performance will be outdoors, under the clouds of night- and coming after a year of great turmoil and examination. This collaboration is a way, like all music, to communicate without words, explore a means of reconciliation and find peace through connection with others and layered clouds of cosmic synthesis and clunky tools. Relevance is overrated, let us allow ourselves to slow down and be useless. Bring on the stargazing.
